Dear families,
While a long, relaxing summer break has been wonderful, I am ready to be back with the children. I can't wait to see how much they've grown over the summer. Never before have I had the opportunity to "move up" with a group of children. I feel very lucky to do so, especially with this group! As a community we're also lucky to have four new children with us. We'll be doing as much as we can in the first few weeks to make them feel welcome. As many of you recall, my daughter Julia will be attending her first year of college out of state this fall. Her move to Portland, Oregon, will require me to miss the Polaris Ice Cream Social on August 19th as well as the third and fourth days of school (Wednesday and Thursday, August 24 and 25)during that first week. However, I will be there both the first and second day of school, August 22 and 23, to welcome the children and get them settled and comfortable. I know this is not ideal but I appreciate your patience. The substitute teacher will be Mr. Mike Martinez, a teacher that the returning children both know and like. I'll be back by Friday morning. If you attend the Ice Cream Social, be sure to have the children stop by our new classroom. It will be all ready - with Frodo the Tortoise there to greet them. Savor these last few days of summer vacation and give the girls and boys hugs for me! It is a privilege to teach your children, Angela
